Weston Carter

Auburn Athletics Department, Director of Video Services, Media Systems
Weston Carter joined Auburn University as the director of video services, media systems in July of 2014. He oversees the department's media asset management, which includes Avid shared storage, Interplay, and archive. He oversees video production workflow management and all editing clients. In this position, Carter produces long-form original feature content and trains students and staff on standard operating procedures and techniques of non-linear video editing. Carter also teaches an introduction to sports video production class and an advanced sports video production class for the Auburn School of Journalism.

Carter began his career in athletic video production with Illini Productions at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2006. He spent eight years working for the athletic department as associate director of video services where he created award-winning feature content. He also served as the technical director for live in-venue video board productions for football and men's basketball.

Carter received his bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2008. He received his master's degree in sports management from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2010.
